bungalow
A bungalow is a small house or cottage that is either single-story or has a second story built into a sloping roof (usually with dormer windows), and may be surrounded by wide verandas. The first house in England that was classified as a bungalow was built in 1869. In America it was initially used as a vacation architecture, and was most popular between 1900 and 1918, especially with the Arts and Crafts movement.
The term is derived from the word bangla (meaning "Bengali") and used elliptically to mean "a house in the Bengal style."

My heating system was installed in 1981 when the bungalow was built. It consists of a wall mounted Ideal Concord WCF 255A boiler with the flow and return (28mm) going up into the loft where the pump and 3 motorised valves are fitted (I think it was called an S plan plus). This allows separate...

i have a client who has an old (15 yrs +) valient combi. the hot water pressure isn't brilliant, but goes worse if another hot water tap is turned on.
i realise it's a bit vague, but i havent been yet, but any info on what to look for would be most helpful.

Hi, I've just put in a new bath in my bungalow and everything is fine, except there doesn't seem to be much pressure in either the hot or cold water. I fitted a new mixer tap with single lever action and wondered if this has anything to do with it.

Hi
I'm interested in these new-fangled Air Source Heat Pumps for my house but I understand you need to calculate the building load for the house to be able to size it correctly. Anyone got any pointers as to the best way to do this? I expect it's really complex and you need to get a...

As a result of a unfortunate accident on the roof, (please don't ask) we are replacing our Ideal Isar HE 30 with a Broag Remeha Avanta 28C, after an awful lot of research.
To be honest the Ideal has in fact been far from "ideal", having had a new PCB, three igniters and User control board...

Hi all,
Just moved in to a new bungalow with 10 rads, most are not getting warm.
In the loft there is a 22mm loop through the boiler and pump, with Y split and 2 motorised valves.
Hot water sub loop is OK, but CH loop route is a bit weird.
There are 2 microbore manifolds, one with 14 pipes...

Morning all - I replaced a trv in a large bungalow yesterday. To save draining down I bunged the header tank - rad working fine now but water not heating up. Assume there is now an air lock leading up to the coil in the tank ? How would I clear this ?
