I have tried hard to get similar to the first class satchwqell /Sunvic SML type revolving type valves instead of the quite short lived spring return type valves.
I saw an advert from the Hearken company who either make these or buy them in. The only problem they are BSP threads so adaptors are...

Jaguar and Land Rover are two iconic examples of British engineering, and now we hear that the company will be exporting British jobs to China.
This may make sense for their profits and share-holders, but how can it make sense for Britain?
We have over a million young people unemployed, and...

I have a bath mixer tap which has just one multifumction handle controlling both hot and cold water. It is dripping badly. How do I change the washer especially how do I get to the washer as it is not obvious to me how the handle is removed.

Hi
I need a new 90 deg bend plastic waste pipe. Unfortunately, the pipe appears to be a non-standard make, a chap in one of the plumbing suppliers I asked said he thought it was a continental size.
It is about 43 mm outside diameter. It is just too big for the screw threads to fit the standard...

Hi, I'm currently "living" with my decorator/plumber who has been renovating the house. He has just ordered and fitted some new bathroom taps that I paid relatively quite a lot for. I'm not very good with the technical language I'm afraid, but the plug hole part of the sink, is a push type -...

I am working on a WC draining through a horizontal soil pipe (about 10 ft with 1" fall can't get any greater than this due to shallow floor joists) this then exits into a vertical stack. There are no blockages and air is entering stack. My problem is a that the WC fills almost to the rim before...

I was surprised when I replaced the toilet just over a week ago. The exit pipe to the soil stack was in lead? The house was built in 1964. Was this common?
I would have though this matrial would have been phased out earlier than this.

I need to replace the shower waste unit in my ensuite but the pipe is 43mm. I have tried everywhere locally (local plumbing supplies, Travis Perkins, ScrewFix, B&Q, etc) but cannot find this size. I did buy a 40mm unit hoping that there might be enough play in it but there wasn't. Any suggestions?

Hi, fitted a jacuzzi yesterday and a tile slipped out of my hand, missed all the protection and dinted the white acrylic bath, its about 1mm deep and about 3mm in diameter and highly polished. I used my china block to rub out the marking on it but really need to fill it with something and make...
Hello all, i'm new to the forum.
Recently decided to go it alone as i have now been out of work for awhile. So just a a few questions.
1. What are the standard call out fees? I'm looking to charge around £35 to be competitive compared to some in the area that are charging over £50.
2. Is it a...

Well it was a bit of a bloody awful...
