Having troubles with the Rayburn 480k and possibly supporting plumbing.
When the Rayburn is cold it will fire but only one side cooker or boiler, you can not have both, and boiler is more reliable than cooker, I also think that the diverter valve or cylinder stat is not working but need hot...
Evening all, first time poster here.
I have a Worcester Bosch Heatslave 18/25 ext boiler. It’s been working fine as of late, however, yesterday it started playing up.
I always service the boiler myself (nozzle change and cleaning of various bits) then my plumber comes round and finishes it...
trying to fire but stopping, new nozzle, oil and air as per manufacturer's instruction, new photocell which is spotlessly clean, no air lock, oil clean and flowing, tiger loop full of oil- what next to get this thing going.
Hi,
My oil boiler stopped working, and will not fire back up.
It appears the header tank may have run dry (I have to switch the water to it on and off, as otherwise it overfills and overflows),
Header tank now full, system drained a little to eliminate air, and seems okay.
When I turn it on, it...
Have an oil burner not firing up properly. It has oil in the tank and the burner comes on but not firing. I can hear it trying to fire up, like a spitting fire sound but doesnt stay on. It keeps trying to fire every few secs. Anyone know what this could be

Heya guys, im hoping this is the right place, and am praying you can help me!
The other day a plumber came round to change some connections on the radiators, bled them and ever since we have had no heating. Last time the boiler went down it took our landlords 2 months to fix it, and with it now...
Evening Guys,
No heating or water from our Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30cdi conventional boiler.
When starting up the boiler the pilot light comes on for around 30/40 seconds. There is then sharp gurgling noises and the ignition from the pilot light goes out. I did a quick video here which I...
Hi Chaps,
We've just had a new boiler/system installed by a plumber and it was wired separately by a qualified electrician, the electrician wired this as per the Vaillant manual.
The system is fully filled and vented but when trying to call for heat or water via the stats nothing seems to...
I put this problem to the forum 3 weeks age and everyone said I should get the installer back.
I did that and he could not find a problem.
I also had British gas out twice (I have a yearly maintenance contract with them) and the first man changed the motor on the Honeywell 3 port valve -...
I have a strange problem (to me). Sometimes the new Worcester 18RI does not fire up when I would expect it to, for example.
I came home last night and the Hive was showing an actual room temp of 19 deg with a set point of 21 deg.
The boiler was on, with the inlet and outlet temps of around 35...

Hi, our power tripped and the boiler wouldn't fire after this happened, I bought a new photocell as this failed some years ago, however I have noticed recently that on start up it has made a noise like a slipping fan belt, not exactly a squeal but it's there, I changed the photocell and it still...

Hi there..
So, after flushing my boiler system to release what appears to have been an airlock in some pipework (had a very satisfying splutter and huge surge of black muck out of the drain valve) for my new radiator...(previous thread), I have today gone and bought some Central heating...

Hi everyone,
My family has just taken on a rental in Scotland. We've moved from Australia and don't have experience with gas central heating at all.
The place we rented has a Sime Friendly Format 80 that does instant hot water and central heating. The agent had it inspected just before we...
Hi there, firstly apologies for having a rubbish boiler but can't afford a replacement yet.
If I run a tap the boiler makes all it's usual start up noises, the burner light flickers but then goes out. No ignition sound and the boiler runs with just cold water. The fan runs. Have recently...
I recently drained down my pressurised system in order to move a radiator. I've now refilled the system and did a quick check and the boiler fired for central heating / hot water and it fired OK. I then switched off the hot water/central heating at the controller and left it. Later on when...
