Right guys,
Got a whole house to price up this week. 4 bed dormer I think, new build. I don't normally do new builds or jobs of this size tbh, so have little experience of pricing them up.
I'm off to see the house and get the plans on thurs/fri. Any advice on how best to go about it? Don't...
Just wanted to grab some comparisons off anyone here if you'd be so kind. I've been contacted by a friend of a friend who's a developer and they want me to commission to vaillant 637 boilers and an unvented cylinder on a large domestic property. Debating wether or not to charge a day rate or go...
Hey people. Currently coming to the end of my NVQ level 2 and hoping to move on to my NVQ level 3 soon after.
One thing I've always wondered about is how to price for work? Starting to pick up hobbles here and there and getting asked for quotes all the time. Thing is I've never been with my...
Hi all, got a custard who is after a new heating system and wants a price but I was looking for some advice on how to price it? It's a system boiler that's in the basement just now with a cylinder upstairs. Never actually priced a job like this myself
before so would appreciate any tips. Thanks
Heat only boiler and cylinder out and new combi in. Combi in same place but condense to run somewhere. Easy gas run if upgrade reqd. With pipework, disconnect tanks etc does 500 labour only seem too much?
Hello fellow drunks
As most of you know im just starting up on my adventure in the big world of running a business, the skills side to completing the job aint a problem, but the business side is all new and im picking it up with alot of help
Question is, on pricing a job up what should i take...
When I get quotes for work to be done, nothing irritates me more than tradesmen saying something like "£80 plus vat". I'd rather be told the job will cost £100. I've even turned down jobs for this reason. just wondering if majority of customers are turds like me and whether or not you mention...
I don't do a massive amount of bathrooms, so never feel as comfortable with pricing them as boilers etc. Would do you charge for a straight swap of a bathroom suite? Bath, basin, toilet. The suite being supplied by the customer.
Basically after a bit if advice really. Monday to Friday I work on site for a for a Plumbing company and then do my own little jobs on an evening or weekend, this means I've never had the need to write out contracts for work to be done or estimates.
I'm going to be pricing up a job to do all...
I would just like to know what people would roughly charge for labour on the following as iv just lost a job through pricing
A bathroom swap without changing positions and then retiling of 8m²..... Includes a difficult window frame
Just rough prices and I'll then give my price
Thanks
When pricing for an easy Cylinder like this installation, how many hours do you think on average it should take. & is there anything that looks wrong with this installation

Now I think we will all agree the hourly rate kind of goes out the window for small jobs, your not going to get to a job that's 10 mins away be there 40 mins drive home within the hour and charge 25 quid but what's your general hourly rate rumoured to be where you are? When pricing I generally...
been to quote for a boiler swap with my mate . old glowworm fitted with 3 x 22mm pipes to boiler we wondered what 3rd pipe was for vent or feed or separate rtn to cyl . in airing cupboard standard close couple feed and vent - ended cutting flkoor while there to check - found 3 rd pipe was a vent...
Just wondered if anyone runs a company what sort of mark up do they put on a boiler change.
I normally work out parts, overheads, engineers wages and add £300 plus vat profit.
unless the customer or the job is going to be a problem then I add more on.
I find I normally loose the job if I go...
hello guys.
awkward topic.
what sort of a wage should a new Level 2 qualified plumber expect working for a bathroom and kitchen company. very little plumbing experience but 10 years of working in a skilled hands on job.
also what sort of prices do you guys charge for say fitting say a...
Hiya guys
As a new business I'am doing okay with pricing at the moment(no major cock ups) but it takes me hours, obviously its important to give an accurate prices so that you get the job, But I'am finding that I never seem to be able to accurately give a price for materials I will use ie pipe...
would you allow to change a radiator, adjust pipework replace drain off and change and wire in a 2 port valve.
Gravity system slow to refill, stuff in front of rads, van parked 3 mins away.
Just need an idea??
PS guess i could have frozen the pipework and put on 2 full bore valves but.......
