hi, I am after some advice, I recently fitted a new gas valve to a vaillant ecotec earlier. the boiler was fitted in 2015 and has been serviced since
anyway I put my analyser in the combustion side of the flue and the readings were extremely high, something along the lines of
CO ppm —OR—...
Hi all, hope everyone is keeping well.
I was wondering if anyone can help me work out the best boiler to cover this: -
1.) Modulation ratio of 9:1 or higher.
2.) BMS controlled modulation via 0-10v signal.
3.) BMS feedback re boiler modulation via 0-10v signal.
4.) A reliable boiler too...
As long as you're willing to put in the work on the forum I can't help you get your like ratios up.
I'm adding some 'Like' buttons that will add + 3 Likes per 1 button press. Esteemed will be able to give these out. But not abuse them! They risk losing all of theirs and starting again with...
On my oil heater adjusting the air band and shutter I see the flame getting larger and larger as i decrease the air. Set to the smallest air intake the flame is the largest. I never see smoke.
I did a complete tune up last season and noticed this condition, then and again this season.

Had a landlord cert which showed a ratio above .0800 and ppm's over 9000 .
Changed the flue , still same reading , changed gas valve still same .
Clean out and inspected chamber still the same.
Pressures checked on llsc .
Apart from it nigh on wrecking my anslyser.
Getting to point of why...
CO2 is the most important reading not the ratio? Statement from Valiant literature.
If this is correct then why is this not on the landlords safety certificate for example?
A landlords certificate requires gas rate and gas ratio co/co2 reading.
If these are both correct the boiler is deemed...
Sooo...
Let's say you go do a gas safety and the boiler has the following readings on the analyser:
Co: 346
Co2: 10.8
Ratio: 0.0032
Would you
A) AR it
B) pass it and recommend a service
C) pass it with no recommendations
D) ID it
Right back to the UKPF and the "HEAT LINE S24 " spent 3 hours completely stripped cleaned. Sorted out the water leaking from the primary flow and return pipe to heat exchanger
Went outside popped probe into flu..
M Kane 455 went berserk with "HIGH co2"
Just after stripping and full clean up...
hello just a quick question please if you can help please the manufactures state the ratio should for vokera excell 25 boiler should be below 0.004 if I get a reading for 0.0012 is this a good reading?
I have just installed this boiler. Nice fancy user interface. In service mode in max rate I am getting
O2 4.2
co2 9.5
Co ppm 129
Ratio .0013
Ratio and co is quite high. Usually when commissioning a new boiler I get a ratio of around .0007 and about 70 ppm co.
Pipe...
About to do a Landlords inspection on a Halstead ACE HE30 - first time working on a Halstead. Looking at MIs CO2 (Max) is quoted as 9.2% +/- 0.3. There's no absolute CO levels included in the data but the CO/CO2 ratio (Max) is stated as '0.0003 +0.005'. Can this be right? A ratio of 0.0003 with...
Hi Guys,
Went to service the above today, followed MI, fan pressure good -5.87 but decided to give it a full service as its good for my own experience as I'm new to the trade.
All went well cleaned combustion chamber, burner etc, replaced seals as required by MI, then I hit a snag ... The gas...
Hey guys,
Need abit of clearing up here....
So earlier today was sent on a service on an Ariston Microgenus mffi 23 GC No. 47 166 14 (to be precise)
O2 = 4.2
Co ppm = 205ppm
Co2 = 9.5
Co/Co2 Ratio = 0.0022
Im quite surprised to see that my Ratio seems sound however my ppm was above...

I was getting readings of 0.0040, 0.0073, 0.0021, 0.0095 and...
Have been doing some servicing and safety checks for a HA over the last few weeks, mainly boilers and cookers so all good. Had one yesterday with a gas fire and didn't think anything of it until the system we use asked for a flue analysis and then i realised I've never used a FGA on a gas fire...
Hi everyone,
I'd like to know what the common problems/symptoms could be for a higher than normal CO/Co2 ratio when using a Flue Gas Analyser. What should I be looking for i.e correct incoming gas pressure from the meter etc. Are there a few problems which you would always check first and most...
