Hi Chaps,
has anyone come across this:
called out to a Worcester 24i PRV dripping, checked pressure 2.5bar reduced pressure to 1bar PRV still dripping so new needed. In the mean time the pressure creeps back to 2.5bar??? One thinks pressure gauge faulty so opens the PRV and completely empties...
Does anyone fit a lot of combis to old open vented systems and can they provide a copy of their 'waiver' in respect of 'Our price will not include the repairs that maybe required to the existing system with the increased pressure, etc, etc....'
Thanks chaps.

Hi all
just put an sealed system kit on a previously open vented system and the customer called to say that the pressure has dropped a little. topped it up and all is ok 2 days later.
its obviously air trapped in the system but don't like putting aav's in as they can leak.....

Sorry - householder here, but I've spent a day on the internet trying to answer this question for myself without any luck, so if any of you are able to give any pointers I would be one happy lady!

Hi Fellas,
Im new to this site and have a question???!
When converting an open vented system to a sealed system (expansion vessel, PRV and all the rest) can I connect into either of the primaries?
The boiler is located in the garage and would be an ideal place for me to site the expansion kit...
I am new to this forum and have completely run out of ideas.
My system had a problem with sludge so I organised for a power flush and sealed system to be put in last year to stop the air corroding the system. I then found that the pressure was leaking and the water needed to be refilled from...
Hi,
Our sealed central heating system keeps losing pressure and we have to top it up very frequently. So in an attempt to work out whether it is the pipework at fault or the boiler I have done the following.
1. I connected a pressure gauge to one of the rads and pressurised the system to 3...

Hi there, Is it possible to create a vacuum on a sealed system like you can do on a open vented system where you can cap the OV and bung the CF to create a vacuum. I'm guessing it's not possible, but i would like to know the science behind it :)
sorry for a novice question!

Right guys been and converted a system to sealed from ov today but can't get any heat at the rads we located the new boiler in the cupboard where the cylinder was used the 28 mm flow and return from the cylinder to connect to the heating flow and return at the back boiler but no heat at rads...
I know it is best to put the vessel on a long run from the return on the boiler before any tee offs for rads and that, but is it the same for the temp pressure relief valve aslo? As in a combined bit of kit? As my boiler instructions say on the flow
I don't have one handy, but was wondering, as I can't find anything on t' net, if someone has a good photo or instructions they can post as I'm interested in seeing how one is piped up, where everything goes. Thanks.
Hi guys,
I need to make a customers heating system a sealed one. Is there anything i need to consider other than fitting and plumbing in a sealed system kit? i.e Does the boiler need any other fittings/stats?

Does anyone know the difference in efficiency in percentage terms between a Sealed system and an open vented one please . Or can direct me to the info on the internet .
I know that a sealed system IS more efficient than an open vented one because water under pressure heats up quicker ...
Hi,
I have just started a job where the system requires converting to a sealed system as customer wants to remove tanks from loft. I am just wondering where the expansion vessel is best fitted? Boiler is in garage so plenty of space. Does it need fitting on return? Never actually converted a...

When converting an open vented system, is it as easy as taking out the F&E and replacing it with an expansion vessel? In exactly the same place? Then add an prv and filling loop?
Had a call back today on a system i was asked to drain put cleaner in flush then top up with inhibitor. Was a sealed system with a gs 28 i installed. Went about business as norm flushed filled back up etc flashed up got air out checked all rads got nice and toasty waited around for 30 mins or so...
