I'm needing to replace a Drayton Mid Position valve Actuator, code MA1. The failed one is 3-wire (red, green, black) but all the new ones I've found advertised are 5-wire (yet the cover data plates are identical!).

Question is - can I replace the 3-wire actuator with a 5-wire, and if so how should I wire it? Or are 3-wire versions available?

Thanks!

Are you sure the installer hasn’t just chopped the wires off
No, that's not the case, as can be seen in the photo...

3 wire is a diverter eg Drayton 27102

It seems to be, as it's just switching between HW and CH with no mid-position. So, can I put a diverter actuator on it and not an MA1? Which one if so?
Can you not just put a new motor in that one
Unfortunately not - the post/s in the chassis holding the 2 springs have snapped off so the valve is stuck in the CH position
