Vaillant Ecomax open-vent, overheat stat

Can anyone remember if these are dry or wet? Got to change one tomorrow and need to budget time.

Bit of an odd one. Went round Saturday, got F 05 error. Stuck a bit of wire between overheat stat contacts, re-attached and started working again. Got a text this morning saying it's gone again. Red button on the stat hadn't popped out. Part coming in tomorrow, will give it a try.
