Hello. My mixer shower (non-electric) recently started running luke warm. I know this can happen at this time of year over winter but I've been in the property over 10 years and it's never been this bad before. The combi boiler was checked and is ok. The hot water from taps is uneffected and...
Hi folks.
I replaced a cartridge about 18months ago for somebody and it’s failed again. Are they really only designed to last a couple of years?
It’s in a catering kitchen so gets lots of use but I’m surprised it’s gone so quick.
Hi all,
I'm having problems with an old kitchen mixer tap.......the cold side is dripping from spout so I attempted to remove the brass cartridge to change rubber washers but for some reason after fully unscrewing it doesn't want to come out. Maybe something simple stopping it but I didn't...
Desperate. Can anyone help me identify this bath mixer tap? Make worn off and needs replacement cartridge. External diameter is 46mm and height is 114mm
noticed that the new ones have plastic lower half whilst original and some still sold by some retailers are still all brass.
anyone got experience which type is best and lasts longer (without dripping)?
Cheers
Got what is probably a simple issue if you know how.... getting as far as the ceramic cartridges so I can get them out, measure, and hope they are still a currently available size and if not see if I can dissolve out any. I'd just change the tap but would involve removing tiling, cupboards that...
Hi all,
We have some terrible water hammer in our house. I've had a plumber come round to try and fix it, to no avail, but I'm not convinced he chose the right course of action. He started by checking the water pressure, securing a few pipes in the roof space which was fair enough, but...

Hi anyone changed the cartridges on an abobe atlas kitchen tap? I don't think there is a box spanner required as I think the chrome Stroud after the handle screws off? Thanks for any tips. Attached picture of the tap. Thanks
Small leaks around the levers on our tap/kitchen sink. Tap/unit is about 10 years old.
I was wondering if you could tell me what cartridges/valve fit this please
My dad's friend is a retired plumber and will be fitting for me.

I finally spent some time on the phone to Bristan. As you know the changed their general warranty to 5 years. Part of that was a change in Ts&Cs that any cartridges that fail had to have been 'serviced' a minimum of annually and if in a hard water area semi...
Bristan are currently refusing to replace ceramic cartrdiges that leak if a homeowner cannot demonstrate that the cartridge has not been 'serviced' twice a year.
This is the excert from the Bristan website
The guarantee does not cover damage or defects caused by:
• System debris, including the...

Mixer Swivel Taps - Time to change cartridges - They're 15 years old - need help.
The top casing & main body of each cartridge (two different types) has come off (upstairs bathroom - downstairs bathroom) - but the base is stuck in each of them - I can't...
I seem to keep getting called to kitchen taps which need new cartridges, however they are all difference and I never seem to have the right one on the van. Where do you guys get yours from, as most merchants round here only have one or two different types in stock.
Good afternoon all. I need to get some replacement cartridges for the above tap but I cannot seem to get them until after the day I am working there. so I am wondering if you can buy generic cartridges like screwfix or do they need to be Franke? Wishful thinking maybe?
Over the last few weeks I noticed a small drip from the hot water handle where it meets the body. Quick google showed it used quarter-turn cartridges and this needed replacing. Today I decided to tackle it and am regretting it since I started.
Easy enough to remove the screw covers, the screws...

Went to do a private job and change the cartridges in this tap and both are seized into the tap. So have to replace the tap.
Have to remove the tiles which sit directly underneath a mirror above and a glass shower screen to the right.
If I manage to get the tiles out without recking the mirror...
Overheard a conversation today about a limescale filter that you change a cartridge with a yearly boiler service?
Got interrupted before I got a chance to ask what it was.
Just done a quick search but only found a "Combimate"
Any ideas?
