Has anybody heard of these? My girlfriends gran and grandad have an ancient one and one of the doors is shot so they can't shut it and it' turned the room black.
I've found a place in Ireland that recondition Wellstood ranges but wondering if there was anything in the UK.
Hi there,
Looking for a simple solution for a header tank for a solid fuel stove, open vented, pumped central heating system. Would like tank to be opaque, so level of coolant can be checked, obviously good for high temps (100deg plus?) roughly 2l capacity, and to have an overflow connection...
Hi guys I'm looking for a bit of advice. I need to get five radiators from this stove 3 upstairs and 2 downstairs I don't need to go to a hot water tank and I have no header tank for the system so I'm hoping I can just have a circuit or 2 for rads only I have 1 grundfos pump but can get another...
Was have a trianco trg45 boiler and one of the flueways at the back has become blocked solid. The tool provided can't shift it and it's awkward to get at. Is there a chemical or something I can use to soften up the compounded soot. Any help would be gratefully received
Hi, I've been asked to provide a quote for a customer who wants central heating. Currently the property has only a conventional coal fire with a back boiler. My plan is to install combi. So drain down the existing gravity feed direct hot water system and remove the hot water cylinder. The...
Hi to everyone, this is my first post and I will do my best to explain what system I have installed and what Im looking to change in it. Here is a diagram of my system so far,
I am thinking of installing the system link so I can use the oil to boost the solid fuel heating for the central...
Anyone who is Heatas know if the attached picture of a stove is allowed, the jaunty angle of the downward facing flue in particular. Plus there is no catchment space where the flue goes into an open brick chimney. I wouldn't allow this on gas or oil, just need confirmation re solid fuel.
cheers
Theoretically, a solid fuel boiler would have min 28mm flow and return to cylinder. Would the hot water draw off/vent pipe also need to be m i n 28mm..??
Hi, had my solid fuel Rayburn year ago, runs radiators and has Eco boiler in bedroom and another tank up in attic. Originally central heating was calor gas, I have kept this going so I can top up my radiators and in the summer when Rayburn off I switch over to the gas boiler for my hot water...

We want to remove an old solid fuel back boiler to install a multifuel stove with back boiler.

About 10 years ago we made 2 joining properties into one, joining all the plumbing and electrics. Our AGA SF55 solid fuel gravity fed boiler wasn't strong enough to pump 16 radiators so we installed 3 storage heaters that we run off ecconomy 7 as well as having the boiler for heating the...

Hi all,

Surely this is incorrect saying these woodburners can be used on unvented(i think he sealed system). Because it is rated to 2 bar.
This is wrong isnt it. You cant use solid fuel on a sealed/unvented surely as you cant control the heat source

Hi all, and thanks for reading my question! I have an old 16" fireplace that houses a lovely perfectly working old redfyre back boiler that after a few hours of burning coal and wood, produces loads of very hot water, however the fire doesn't throw much heat in to the room, could I in...
Just had a customer email saying that he would like to connect a solid fuel stove up to his combi for heating and wondered if it was possible?
I said not 100% sure and if it was possible I don't think it would be financially viable as I would of thought that you would have to connect the...
ive got a call coming up in work to go and fix a solid fuel heating system , log burner runs a gravity indirect hot water cylinder and a pumped open vent heating system run with a hi - lo limit stat to run the pump to circulate the water to the rads. the problem is that the heating wont work...
Been to quote a job that has recently had a new wood burner fitted with pipe work to a new cylinder thats controlled by two pipe stats and a pump for the heating side of things.
Whats the options for adding a boiler to this type of system? Something I've never had to do for some reason and...
Can I somehow link either a woodburner or a solid fuel boiler into an oils system in a sensible way ?
My old farmhouse had a straw and pallet burner linked with an oil fired rayburn along with a woodburner !
You could boil the whole system .
My old plumber marvelled at how the guy had made it...
