trapped in wc!

i'm in the cistern. can't get the lid off. i think there's a button that connects to series of rods but it won't screw off.

push one of the buttons down and lever the other one off then you should see a screw
although if you're in the cistern you wont see the buttons lol

Is it held down by silicone?

How on earth did you manage to fit inside a wc cistern? Are you training to be a contortionist as well as a plumber?
